“Be still' means to stop striving, stop fighting, relax. It also means to “put your hands down”. Sometimes we put our hands up to defend ourselves from all that life can bring our way. Psalm 37:7 Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act. Don't worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. Psalm 62:5-6 Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. + Psalm 46:10 He says, "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. " + Exodus 14:14 The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still. The meaning of the longer phrase 'ehyeh 'ăšer 'ehyeh is debated, and might be seen as a promise ("I will be with you") or as statement of incomparability ("I am without equal"). In the King James' Authorised Version of the Bible (AV), there are seven (7) uses of the phrase “be still”. All but one are in the Old Testament.
